Terms & Conditions for Lawyers on AsaanLaw

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between AsaanLaw and the lawyers, attorneys, or other legal professionals (“Lawyer” or “you”) who register or create a profile on the AsaanLaw platform. By registering or creating a profile, you agree to be bound by these Terms, applicable laws, and the rules of professional conduct governing lawyers in Pakistan.

  1. Eligibility and Registration

1.1 By registering with AsaanLaw, you represent and warrant that you are a licensed and practicing lawyer in good standing in Pakistan, authorized to provide legal services, and are fully compliant with the regulatory and licensing requirements set by the Pakistan Bar Council and other relevant authorities.

1.2 You must provide accurate, current, and complete information about your qualifications, experience, and registration details when creating a profile on AsaanLaw. Falsifying information may lead to the immediate suspension or termination of your account.

1.3 AsaanLaw reserves the right to verify your credentials and professional standing at any time, including contacting regulatory bodies for confirmation.

  1. Use of the AsaanLaw Platform

2.1 AsaanLaw is a third-party platform that connects clients with lawyers. You acknowledge that AsaanLaw is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. AsaanLaw is not responsible for the legal advice, representation, or services that you provide to clients.

2.2 You are solely responsible for any legal advice, representations, or services you provide to clients obtained through the AsaanLaw platform. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards in your jurisdiction while using the platform.

2.3 You agree not to misuse the platform, including but not limited to:

  • Engaging in activities that violate any laws or regulations.
  • Posting or transmitting false, misleading, or defamatory information.
  • Soliciting clients for purposes unrelated to AsaanLaw services.
  • Engaging in unethical or unprofessional conduct.
  1. Confidentiality and Client Communications

3.1 You agree to maintain the confidentiality of client communications in accordance with the applicable rules and laws governing lawyer-client privilege in Pakistan.

3.2 AsaanLaw may have access to communications or interactions facilitated on the platform solely for the purpose of support, quality assurance, or as required by law. However, AsaanLaw will maintain the confidentiality of these communications to the extent required by law.

3.3 Lawyers on the platform must take reasonable steps to protect any client information received through AsaanLaw, including but not limited to implementing secure methods of communication and data storage.

  1. Profile Content and Intellectual Property

4.1 You are solely responsible for any content you post on your profile, including but not limited to descriptions of your experience, expertise, and client testimonials. You agree to refrain from using any content that is defamatory, infringing, or otherwise unlawful.

4.2 By submitting content to AsaanLaw, you grant AsaanLaw a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, display, modify, or distribute such content solely for the purpose of operating, marketing, and promoting the platform.

4.3 All rights to AsaanLaw’s intellectual property, including its logo, trademarks, and software, remain the exclusive property of AsaanLaw. You agree not to use any of AsaanLaw’s intellectual property without prior written consent.

  1. Fees and Payments

5.1 AsaanLaw offers various subscription models, including Freemium and Premium options, with associated fees. By choosing a paid subscription, you agree to pay the fees as stated on the platform.

5.2 AsaanLaw reserves the right to modify fees at any time. Any changes to the fees will be communicated to you, and by continuing to use the platform, you agree to the revised fees.

5.3 Payments for legal services rendered through the platform are made directly between the client and the lawyer. AsaanLaw is not responsible for the collection, processing, or distribution of payments unless stated otherwise.

  1. Dispute Resolution and Indemnification

6.1 You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AsaanLaw, its affiliates, and its representatives from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to:

  • Your breach of these Terms.
  • Any legal services provided to clients.
  • Any violation of applicable laws, rules, or professional standards.

6.2 In the event of a dispute arising between you and AsaanLaw, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute remains unresolved, it shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Act, 1940, of Pakistan. The decision of the arbitrator(s) shall be final and binding.

  1. Termination

7.1 AsaanLaw reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account if you breach these Terms or if we determine, in our sole discretion, that your conduct is harmful to the AsaanLaw platform, clients, or other lawyers.

7.2 Upon termination, you agree to discontinue use of the platform and acknowledge that all rights granted to you under these Terms cease immediately.

  1. Limitation of Liability

8.1 AsaanLaw is not liable for any actions, omissions, or legal services provided by you to clients. You agree that AsaanLaw shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the platform, except where prohibited by law.

8.2 AsaanLaw makes no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the platform and disclaims any liability for technical errors or interruptions.

  1. Compliance with Law and Professional Standards

9.1 You agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules, and ethical standards governing your legal practice in Pakistan, including those established by the Pakistan Bar Council.

9.2 You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any licenses, certifications, or permits required to provide legal services. You acknowledge that AsaanLaw has no obligation to verify your compliance with these requirements but may request verification at any time.

  1. Changes to Terms 10.1 AsaanLaw may update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you, and by continuing to use the platform after such changes, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms.
  2. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any legal actions or proceedings arising out of these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Pakistan.
